Браунинг год назад выпустил классический 1911 но в уменьшенном до 85 процентов масштабе от оригинала, и под патрон .380 Браунинг Короткий.
Вообще, идея сделать уменьшенный 1911 принадлежит еще самому Джону Браунингу. Он, как я понимаю, не слишком привечал здоровенный патрон 45ACP (потому как сам таких не конструировал) и сделал под него 1911 только по настоянию военных. Одновременно Браунинг планировал выпустить “1911” под интересный и мощнецкий патрон 9,65х23 (в США известен как 9,8), для замены мгновенно устаревших моделей обр 1902 и 1903. Причем и в США и в Европе. Уменьшен затвор по сравнению с оригиналом, примерно до 87-88 процентов, существенно уже, курок, спусковой крючок и прочие органы управления, с оригинального 1911. Но в США, у фирмы Кольт не нашлось лишних мощностей, так как новые линии были полностью загружены армейским “1911 .45”, а на старых продолжали клепать 1902 и 1903, которые еще долго прекрасно продавались, и все ограничилось прототипами. В Европе FN успело выпустить установочную партию 1911 под 9,65 под названием “Гранд Браунинг” – но сволочные немцы захватили Бельгию, выпуск 1911 прекратился, после войны так и не был возобновлен, а там уже замаячил и “Гранд Пуссанс”.
Гораздо позднее, уже после ВМВ, фирма Кольт продавала “а-ля 1911” под .380 Например “Кольт Мустанг”, “говермент покетлайт”, “говермент 380” и пр. Но это была именно что конструкция по мотивам, у которой почему-то даже не было автоматического предохранителя на рукояти, – что сильно уменьшало готовность к пистолета одинарного действия к первому выстрелу.
В то же время “уменьшенные 1911”, под 9х19 и .380, с предохрантиелями и без, вовсю продавали в Испании фирмы Ллама, Стар.
Интересно, что уже в наше время фирма Сиг выпустила редизайн Мустанга “Сиг 238”, у которого так же нет авто-предохранителя, что несколько странно для карманного пистолета, который, как мне кажется, должен быть готов к производству выстрела мгновенно. Однако, это нисколько не помешало приобрести этому пистолету в США большую популярность.
В самих США, по какой-то причине долго не могли смасштабировать 1911 (или я это пропустил?) под меньший калибр, даром, что его выпускает туча фирм. Если пистолет делался под меньший калибр, вроде 9х19, то это выполнялось на том же размере затвора простым уменьшением внутреннего диаметра ствола, при сохранении внешнего, и пр.
И вот, расположенная в США “Браунинг Армс” – сподобилась. Смысл этого пистолета, как они его позиционируют – слабая отдача (.380, короткий ход ствола, рукоять на все пальцы), при достаточном для самообороны патроне. Большая точность чем у большинства современных пистолетов этого калибра, которые являются компактами и субкомпактами. Ну и там “легенда” – Дизайн Джона Браунинга под патрон Джона Браунинга, а не под комиссионный го..но-патрон сляпанный из обрезка винтовочной гильзы 30-30.
Мое мнение – больше пистолетов хороших и разных.

Что они думают о этом пистолете? И о конкретно реализации фирмы Браунинг, и вообще о таком типразмере и калибре 1911го? Есть ли смысл в таком пистолете для самообороны? Привлекательнее ли он для вас, других современных пистолетов? И т.д.
